Patrick Enright

Walking through the Blue Doors of Canisius High School as a freshman, I was overwhelmed with nervousness, excitement, and love. As the years passed, those emotions evolved into a deeper sense of purpose: to become a Man For and With Others. Though the days sometimes blend into a routine, it’s within that rhythm that we are shaped into faithful, considerate, and intellectual men.

At Canisius High School, the dedication and support of administrators, faculty, staff and coaches make this a truly special place. It is a privilege and an honor to be a Crusader and to wear the A.M.D.G. with pride and excellence. Canisius has taught me the importance of striving for excellence while keeping my faith at the heart of success.

On the football and basketball teams, I’ve learned that winning isn’t as important as being a good teammate and leader. The challenges I’ve faced, whether in the classroom or on the field, have taught me a great deal about myself. The integration of academics, athletics, retreats, service trips – and so many more amazing opportunities – is what makes this a place I am proud to call home.

The mind, heart, spirit and strength of the Canisius student is reflected in the character and faith of this community. Guided by a commitment to service and a deep love for God, we grow into the men that Canisius calls us to be. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by the love of my family, friends, teachers, and most importantly, God.

I am beyond grateful to have been nominated for this. I also want to congratulate my fellow nominees: Daniel, Dylan, Jack Lincoln, Hector and Jack Ganci. Our growth into admirable young men is a testament to what Canisius High School provides.

Thank you, Canisius.
