Petros Kollidas

Canisius is known for its exceptional academics, impressive athletics and the strong young men it produces. These factors are crucial to take into consideration when deciding on a high school.

Although there is one factor that always gets passed over: How the opportunity to create unlikely friendships becomes very likely. Every morning, when I walk into my mentor group classroom, I am greeted by friends. I am greeted by freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors as well as kids who do track, crew, football, wrestling, volleyball and every other sport. Through years of mornings and Gold Periods, I have fostered unlikely friendships that will last a lifetime.

Mentor group is just one of the many forums that Canisius offers to students to lead them outside their bubbles, and to meet someone new. That is truly what sets Canisius apart from everywhere else.

A school is only as great as kids in it, and I think that says a lot about the community that has been created here.

Thank you to my teachers for keeping me motivated these past few years. Thank you to my classmates for making every class worthwhile. Last but not least, a thank you to my family, for without you, I would never have had the chance to take part in this great experience.

Thank you Canisius,

Petros Kollidas
