The following Canisius students achieved excellence by earning placement on the Honor Roll for the Fourth Quarter of the 2024-25 school year.

Clothing donations will be accepted inside the KeyBank Center – next to the ticket booths – during business hours on Monday, June 9 and Tuesday, June 10.

The ceremony included the presentation of several special honors by President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J., and Principal Tom Coppola '01 as well as the 2025 induction to Canisius' Robert Bellarmine Chapter of the National Honor Society.

Saturday will go down in Canisius High School rowing history as the Crusaders won two national titles – including in the marquee event – at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America championships in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey.

Coast Guard Academy-bound Thomas Skowron, Firefighter Arno Memorial Scholarship winners and National Merit Scholarship Finalists were among scores honored at our annual Senior Awards Ceremony in Scaccia Auditorium Tuesday.

The 64th Mr. Canisius was announced by Principal Tom Coppola '01 at this morning’s Senior Awards Ceremony.

"To every mother in this room: Thank you. Thank you for the early mornings, the late nights, the prayers you whispered when we didn’t hear them, and the strength you gave us when we didn’t even know we needed it. You have given us more than we can ever repay."

When the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court was making rare public remarks last night in Buffalo, it was a CHS alumnus sitting across from him asking the questions.

Canisius finished first among Western New York private schools in the 2024-25 New York Mathematics League competition, the fourth straight year it has earned that distinction.

This year's six finalists have been announced for the Mr. Canisius Award, which is presented annually to the graduating senior who, in the estimation of his peers, epitomizes all that Canisius stands for.

“It was a pretty moving experience. … It was pretty surreal.”

Craig Hinchcliffe and several students spoke Wednesday about the CHS educational trip to Italy over Easter Break, which culminated in the group being part of a historical moment: Pope Francis’ final public appearance as he said “Buona Pasqua” – Happy Easter – and blessed those gathered in St. Peter’s Square on Easter Sunday.

“He was a Jesuit who knew and loved Jesus deeply,” said CHS President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J. “Francis was a faithful servant of the Gospel who remained close to the people whom Jesus would be close to in our own time. He consistently called us all to greater mercy and compassion.”
