Requiescat in Pace, Seth Kibler ’20.

We mourn the loss of Kibler, a standout swimmer at CHS who went on to swim collegiately and graduated last year from Xavier University. He passed away July 15 following a battle with cancer. He was 23.

“Seth was a member of our championship swim program and a deeply valued member of the Canisius High School community,” said President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J.

"We are tremendously saddened to learn of his passing. We hold Seth, his twin brother Clayton, and all who knew and loved him in our prayer during this difficult time. May Seth rest in the peace and joy of God’s presence.”

Kibler, of Buffalo, was part of the Crusaders’ Monsignor Martin Athletic Association All-Catholic swimming championships in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Seth was named CHS Swimming’s co-Rookie of the Year with Clayton ’20 in 2017 and was named the team’s Most Valuable Swimmer in 2019. In the 2019 All-Catholic meet, Seth won gold in three events, winning the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly as well as swimming the backstroke to start the winning 200 medley relay.

Our hearts go out to Seth’s twin brother Clayton and all of their family and friends.

The family will be holding a private service.
