Outdoor Graduation Day 2020

By CHS staff

Canisius High School hosted an outdoor graduation event for the Class of 2020 on July 31, 2020, coinciding with the Feast of St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits. Canisius had hoped to host a more traditional graduation ceremony this summer, but the pandemic necessitated an alternate plan.

Families arrived in their cars at their scheduled times and awaited their turn to pull forward to the area near the blue doors. There, each graduate got out of his car to receive his diploma and a gift from Canisius President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J. and Principal Andrea Tyrpak-Endres. Each graduate and his family then had a photo opportunity at the blue doors before returning to their vehicles.
