The Canisius High School community, in an effort spearheaded by Loyola House of our CHS House System, raised nearly $3,500 for Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo during the 38th annual Hospice Spring Bouquet Sale.
At the close of Monday’s school day, computer science teacher Karen Nicosia and Nicholas Marcello ’25 handed out the more than 100 purchased bouquets in our Higgins Hall foyer.
All proceeds from the sale benefit Hospice patients and families throughout Western New York, and for every tribute sold, a mixed bouquet is donated back to a patient in Hospice.
Loyola is one of six houses in the CHS House System, which provides an additional level of camaraderie and brotherhood through competition in various events and initiatives, including service projects like this one. All students are members of one of six houses named after prominent Jesuits: Arrupe, Campion, Gonzaga, Jogues, Loyola and Xavier.
The infrastructure of the House System nurtures smaller communities within our larger school community. It helps build stronger bonds and connections between students throughout all four grades as well as with the faculty.
Students and families interested in the pioneering CHS House System and the academic, athletic and artistic excellence only found in a Jesuit education at Canisius can learn more at canisiushigh.org or by joining us at our Spring Open House on Sunday, April 28.
This place is special. Let us show you why.
