Jaeden Phillips '25 honored by Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown with community service award
Keith McShea

Jaeden Phillips ’25 was honored by Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown at City Hall as a recipient of a Mayor’s Summer Youth Internship Award.

Phillips was named the Community Service Award winner after working in the Cornell Cooperative Extension’s 4-H program.

He worked at the Salud Market, helping with record-keeping and vendor relations among other duties. He also led 4-H’s effort to receive funding from the National 4-H Council for a project that enabled healthy menu items to be introduced at two Buffalo corner stores.

Phillips was nominated by 4-H for the award.

An excerpt from the nomination by 4-H leadership:

“Jaeden is an incredibly intelligent young man who cares deeply about making a difference in his own life, for his family, and for his community.

“He is an excellent public speaker who models for his peers how to show up as a leader and community advocate.”
