Bowling

Canisius was set to match up against Timon and St. Francis last week, but both teams were sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols. Despite their opponents' absence, the Canisius team still bowled their matches and will wait for their opponents to return to decide the winners.

In the three games against Timon, the squad bowled a 681, 672, and 730. Andrew Kang ‘22 had the high series of 438. Against St. Francis, they combined for a 680, 801, and 814. Michael Dobrasz ‘21 had the high series of 533 while Matthew Bernard ‘24 was close behind with a 502.

With a 1-1 record, the Crusaders take on Park and O’Hara this week.

Swimming

The Crusaders won their second meet of the season -- a spring meet -- with a score of 722.5, defeating St. Joe’s (521) and Lew-Port (431.5). The squad earned first place in all but one event, dominating the competition for the second week in a row.

In the 200 yd medley relay, Max Kruglov ‘21, Evan Maynard ‘21, Christian Wilson ‘22, and Matthew Woyksnar ‘22 finished in 1:43.63. In the 100 yd freestyle, Jaxon Bruzgul ‘24 had a time of 52.16. In the 100 yd individual medley, Kruglov finished in 54.57. In the 50 yd freestyle, Henry Weimer ‘22 finished in 23.78. In the 200 yd freestyle, Woyksnar had a time of 1:48.30. In the 200 yd freestyle relay, Bruzgul, Weimer, Sean Grace ‘21, and Jed Dietrich ‘21 finished in 1:37.29. In the 50 yd backstroke, Marshall Adams ‘23 had a time of 27.48. In the 50 yd breaststroke, Kruglov finished in 28.83 (tied for first). In the 400 yd freestyle relay, Grace, Kruglov, Wilson, and Woyksnar had a time of 3:26.51. In the 25 yd freestyle, Kruglov finished in 10.97.

Additionally, other Crusader teams and individual swimmers finished in second place in seven events while coming in third in another seven. Watch the replay of the livestream here.

Squash

Canisius defeated City Honors in their season opener. They look to build upon their solid performance against Nichols on Thursday.

Our CHS Drama Guild will present its annual musical on March 14-16 with a wonderfully fun production of The Addams Family. The Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows all start at 7:30 p.m. in historic Scaccia Auditorium.
