As we honor all those who have served on this Veterans Day, here is an update on our "Crusaders for America's Heroes" student group and their work supporting the terrific WNYHeroes.org organization.
Student volunteers last week helped WNYHeroes set up for their annual "Red, White and Blue Gala” event at the Seneca Niagara Casino, while the CHS Jazz Ensemble directed by Jennifer Johnson played before more than 900 people at the sold-out gala.
The Crusaders for America's Heroes group, moderated by teacher Dr. Amy Kimmel, has begun fundraising for their annual support of the WNYHeroes’ Adopt-a-Veteran-Family holiday program.
There are also CHS student volunteers regularly helping WNYHeroes with weekend food distribution. In recent years the student group fundraised to sponsor a service dog through WNY Heroes' outstanding Pawsitives for Heroes program.
