College Signing Day, November 2020

Five Canisius High School seniors took part in a college signing ceremony in the Canisius High School Scaccia Auditorium on Wednesday afternoon, November 18. In front of a small gathering of family and friends, spread out in the auditorium to maintain distance, these young men announced the colleges where they intend to continue their academic and athletic careers.

Connor Booth - D’Youville College, volleyball

  • Starter since his sophomore season
  • 2019 Clarence Tournament All-Tournament Team
  • 2019 1st Team All-Catholic
  • 2019 2nd Team All-Western New York
jacob laduca

Jacob LaDuca - Washington and Jefferson, baseball

  • Started and played full-time for the varsity team at shortstop as a sophomore in 2019
  • Hit .447 and had a .945 fielding percentage this past summer playing for the Academy Stars and Clarence Red Devils
  • Also plays on the Canisius’ Varsity Fed hockey team
vinny mauro

Vincent Mauro - Niagara University, baseball

  • Started and played full-time for the varsity team at third base as a sophomore in 2019
  • Hit .426 with 5 home runs and 32 RBI this past summer playing for the Niagara Jr. Thunderwolves
  • Also plays on the Canisius Varsity Fed hockey team

Ethan Weislo - Springfield College, volleyball

  • 2019 Monsignor Martin League Player of the Year
  • 2019 1st Team All-Western New York
  • 2018 and 2019 1st Team All-Catholic 
  • 2018 2nd Team All-Western New York 
  • 2018 All-Tournament Team selection at the Eden Can-Am Tournament
  • Also very active with USA Volleyball:
    • selected to participate in the 2018 A2 High Performance National Training Camp in Colorado Springs and the 2019 USA Volleyball High Performance A1 Holiday Camp in San Diego
noah weislo

Noah Weislo - Springfield College, volleyball

  • 2019 1st Team All-Western New York
  • 2018 and 2019 1st Team All-Catholic
  • 2019 All-Tournament Team selection at Clarence Tournament
  • 345 kills and 59 blocks in 2018
  • Also very active with USA Volleyball:
    • selected to participate in the 2018 A2 High Performance National Training Camp in Colorado Springs and the 2019 USA Volleyball High Performance A1 Holiday Camp in San Diego

Finalists announced for 2024 Mr. Canisius award

This year's six finalists have been announced for the Mr. Canisius Award, which is presented annually to the graduating senior who, in the estimation of his peers, epitomizes all that Canisius stands for.

CHS Drama Guild's "The Addams Family" musical March 14-16!

Two weeks to opening night!

Our CHS Drama Guild will present its annual musical on March 14-16 with a wonderfully fun production of The Addams Family. The Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows all start at 7:30 p.m. in historic Scaccia Auditorium.
