CHS coat drive yields barrels of donations; students raise more than $550
Keith McShea

For more than two decades, we have conducted a coat drive in partnership with the outstanding Coats For Kids initiative by Colvin Cleaners.

Our community filled several barrels with coats, hats and gloves in a drive organized by our students as part of the CHS Campus Ministry program. On Monday morning the donations were loaded by student leaders into a van driven by Colvin Cleaners Vice President Chris Billoni.

Our thanks to WIVB News 4 Buffalo for stopping by to talk with our students and spotlighting this great Western New York tradition.

Students also raised more than $550 for those in need Monday through a dress-down day that was also a competitive activity within our pioneering CHS House System – Loyola House and Gonzaga House were the top fundraisers.

Students and families interested in our unparalleled Campus Ministry program, the CHS House System and the excellence only found in a Jesuit education at Canisius – voted “Best Private School” in The Buffalo News Best in 716 issue – can learn more at canisiushigh.org and by arranging for an on-campus experience via canisiushigh.org/visit

This place is special. Let us show you why.
