Canisius High School has been named to the Advanced Placement Honor Roll at the Platinum level, a distinction only earned by 6% of eligible high schools across the United States and Canada.
Canisius is the lone boys-only school in the Buffalo Niagara region to achieve either Platinum or Gold status by AP.
CHS is one of just five schools in the area earning Platinum distinction and one of just two in the Diocese of Buffalo.
This is the first year of the AP Honor Roll, which is based on a school’s ability to increase their college-going culture, to provide opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.
AP courses, which allow students to pursue college-level studies and earn college credit while still in high school, are taught by more than 30 percent of our outstanding faculty.
The nine teachers pictured here have taught AP courses at Canisius for a decade or more:
Erin Conley – AP English Literature and Composition
Sam Rizzo – AP United States History
Amy Kimmel – AP English Language and Composition
Dave Hayes – AP United States Government and Politics
Lisa Schrader – AP Chemistry
Brian Spurlock – AP Psychology
Anne Lipp-Read – AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics
Dennis Beecher – AP World History, AP European History
