Top Canisius High School student-athletes from the winter sports season were honored at an awards ceremony on Sunday, March 18, 2018 in the CHS aud.

The state champion 200 free relay swim team of Jake Ruffolo '18, Mac Granto '18, Christian Balkin '18 and Dan Bowen '19 were presented with Athletes of the Season awards. Jake, Mac and Christian are pictured left to right above with Canisius Principal Andrea Tyrpak-Endres and Canisius Director of Athletics Jim Mauro.

Ryan Bradley '18 (above), the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association basketball player of the year, was named an Athlete of the Season on Sunday as well.

Tim Abate '18 (above) took home the Letterman of the Season award for his commitment to the wrestling team.

Five Canisius student athletes were named Section VI Scholar Athletes for the 2017-2018 winter sports season. The winners are Chris Cardillo '18, Noah Braun '18, David Downing '18, Brady Nicosia '18 and Andrew Nigrelli '18. They are listed with their respective sports below.

To be eligible for consideration for Scholar Athlete honors, students must be high school seniors, carry an overall grade point average of 90 or above for seven semesters, and be a starter or important reserve for his team.
