Nine young men from the Canisius High School Speech and Debate Team have qualified to compete at the New York State Forensic League Tournament of Champions. The tournament will take place at Hofstra University on Long Island April 28-29, 2018.
To qualify for the state tournament, competitors had to place near or at the top of their events at two regional tournaments throughout the regular season or earn a qualifier at the final Regional Qualifying Tournament in February.
Qualifying in Lincoln-Douglas Debate are Sebastian Bodkin '19, Daniel El Solh '21, Tyler Geberl '20, Thomas Keane '18 and James Lyon '18.
Qualifying in Public Forum Debate is the team of Naseem Haj-Dahmane '19 and Aidan Wood '19.
Qualifying in Extemporaneous Speaking are Aaron Adams '18 and Dylan Prendergast '19.
The team will depart for the tournament after classes on Thursday, 26 April 2018. Good luck, Crusaders!
