Canisius High School Principal Ms. Andrea Tyrpak-Endres was named to the Buffalo Business First 125 Power Women list for 2019. According to Business First, the honorees are women "whose talent and influence fuel economic, social and cultural growth."
Ms. Tyrpak-Endres' career at Canisius began as a religion teacher in the 1970s when she was one of only three women teaching at the school. Before the start of the 2015-2016 school year, she became the school's first female principal after having stepped into the role as acting principal in the previous school year.
In addition to her leadership as principal, Ms. Tyrpak-Endres continues to teach a religion class, has taken part in service immersion trips, and is involved in community projects such as spearheading the Christmas Boxes of Joy drive for families of Our Lady of Black Rock parish.
