Canisius High School welcomed the Ignatian Scholars of the incoming freshman class of 2022 on Wednesday, March 21st with a reception in the school foyer and the library. The evening event provided an opportunity for students and their families to get to know other Ignatian Scholars and their families.

Ignatian Scholars, named for the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) founder St. Ignatius Loyola, are students who are intellectually gifted and have distinguished themselves through hard work and academic achievement. They are enrolled in honors and accelerated courses, and they take part in enrichment programming such as field trips and speaker series.


Principal Ms. Andrea Tyrpak-Endres welcomed the Ignatian Scholar families.


Brendan Leong '19 talked to the incoming Ignatian Scholars about his own beneficial experience with the program.


Each Ignatian Scholar received a small welcome gift.
