Three Canisius students had the opportunity to go on a service trip to Trinidad and Tobago over the February school break. These students – Damere Hardy '19, Noah Williams '19 and Dondrell Vance, Jr. '20 – studied abroad for ten days with the UB MedStep Program, teaching children about dental hygiene and the importance of oral health.

The Canisius students taught and interacted with the children for the entire week, assisting as they learned to brush and floss and helping with teeth cleanings and some academic work. They even made mouth pieces for the athletes. The entire experience was deeply fruitful for both the Canisius students and for the community that welcomed them. By all accounts, the students worked hard each day and represented Canisius well.

"It was a memorable experience and I’m glad for the opportunity,” said Dondrell.
