Canisius High School music ensembles performed during the 2018 "Holiday Music Under the Dome" series at the M&T Bank gold dome in downtown Buffalo. The Crusaders concert was December 12 at noon. See videos and photos below. The annual concert series has become a holiday tradition in Buffalo, and is a showcase for talented student-musicians.
Also on December 12, Canisius student-musicians presented "A Service of Lessons and Carols" at 7:00 p.m. at St. Louis Church in Buffalo. The Lessons and Carols tradition began in the late 1880s at Truro Cathedral in Cornwall, England. The service of Christian worship tells the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus in short Bible readings from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels. It is interspersed with Christmas carols and hymns.
