The Crusaders varsity football team defeated Cardinal O'Hara 42-14 in the last regular season game of the year on Saturday. Christian Veilleux '20 completed 13 of 20 passes for 259 yards and five touchdowns for Canisius. J.T. Boyland '19 was on the receiving end of three of those touchdowns, while Elijah Haqq '20 and Tristian Vandenberg '19 each caught another. On defense, Jason Martin '19 returned an interception fifteen yards for a touchdown and Vandenberg had nine tackles, two of them sacks and five tackles for loss. The Crusaders finish the season with a 5-4 overall record and a 4-0 Monsignor Martin record. They will take on the winner of the St. Francis versus St. Joe's game for the Monsignor Martin title. 

Canisius volleyball started their week with a 3-0 sweep over Clarence. Then they defeated Eden in a thrilling 3-2 match. The Crusaders won the first two sets 25-12 and 25-19, Eden won the next two 25-14 and 25-14, and then the Crusaders won the last set 16-14. Connor Booth '21 and John Scrocco '19 led the offense while Brendan Leong '19 played excellent defense. Canisius is now 16-3 as they head into the playoffs. They take on St. Mary's in the semis on Tuesday in the Kennedy Field House.
Lucas Beyer '20 and Frano Rados '19 finished 2-3 in this week's cross country race with St. Joe's, but St. Joe's prevailed. The Crusaders are preparing now for All-Catholics on Sunday.
