Summer at Canisius

Canisius remains alive with activity during the summer months.

For current high school students:

The Summer Session program is an accelerated learning initiative open to high school students from throughout WNY (not just Canisius students). Its courses provide students with enrichment opportunities in a variety of subject areas including: Health, Physics, Pre-Calculus, and College Planning.

Please be advised that due to high demand, the accelerated Physics, Precalculus and Health classes are available to non-Canisius High School students after all Canisius students have registered. Space is reserved for Canisius students first. Please note that if you registered for Physics, Precalculus or Health, you may be notified that you will be refunded the cost of the class because the class is full.  It is recommended that you see your Guidance Counselor before you complete the registration.

For incoming freshmen:

Crusader Prep is a four-week summer academic enrichment program open to members of the incoming freshman class. It is designed to provide students with the opportunity to take high school prep courses to help in the transition from middle school to freshman year at Canisius within a positive and supportive environment. Class offerings include English, mathematics, and reading.

For rising 8th grade boys:

Over the course of four weeks, the Higher Achievement Program (HAP) provides a dynamic blend of academics, athletics, and fun each day.

For rising 6th-8th grade boys and incoming Canisius freshmen:

Summer Athletic Camps are weeklong camps in soccer, lacrosse, basketball, hockey and volleyball during which participants learn individual skills, team concepts and sportsmanship from top coaches and players.

For rising 6th and 7th grade boys:

The Workshops are a one-week format for boys entering 6th or 7th grade in the fall.
