Wonder Week Workshops
for rising 6th and 7th grade boys

 


Are you interested in robotics?
Do you enjoy problem-solving?
Do you like the mechanics and engineering of making things work?

At the Robotics Wonder Week Workshop you'll delve into concepts of robotics, engineering and programming, building robots using the LEGO Mindstorm platform.

You'll work in two-person teams and experiment with building plans with a goal of competing against each other at the end of the course.

Choose either of the two weeks below. Each week is limited to 20 participants.

Robotics & Physics Olympiad
July 13-17

This week features robotics in the morning followed by an afternoon session where you'll learn fundamentals of physics and applications while competing in fun and educational contests that demonstrate your learning and achievement.

  • Time: 9:00am–2:30pm
  • Tuition: $200
  • For boys entering grades 6 or 7 in the fall

Robotics & Math in Motion
July 20-24

 
This week features robotics in the morning followed by an afternoon session where you'll learn how knowledge of probability can assist in choices on game shows, investigate how different types of functions can be used to model real-world phenomena, and explore how mathematics has been used in coding throughout the ages.You'll also delve into sports statistics. Using data created in the workshop, as well as data from the internet, you can examine trends and test hypotheses.
