Summer at Canisius
Even though classes are not in session, Canisius remains alive with activity during the summer months. Offerings include:
Crusader Prep is a four-week summer academic enrichment program open to members of the incoming freshman class. It is designed to provide students with the opportunity to take high school prep courses to help in the transition from middle school to freshman year at Canisius within a positive and supportive environment. Class offerings include English, mathematics, and reading.
The Higher Achievement Program (HAP) is a summer camp specifically designed for boys who have just completed the 7th grade. Over the course of its five weeks, HAP provides participants with a dynamic blend of academics, athletics, and fun each day.
The Summer Session Program is an accelerated learning initiative open to high school students from throughout WNY (not just CHS students). Its courses provide students with enrichment opportunities in a variety of subject areas, including: Health, Physics, Pre-Calculus, and College Planning. For more information, contact Mrs. Michele Battin.
Summer Athletic Camps are open to boys entering 7th or 8th grade as well as registered 9th grade Crusaders. Weeklong camps in Soccer, Lacrosse, Basketball, and Volleyball are offered at different points during the summer, during which participants learn individual skills and team concepts from top local coaches and players. For more information, please contact Mr. Jim Mauro.
The Video Game Design & Animation Workshop and Robotics Workshop are for boys who'll be entering 6th or 7th grade in the fall. These two workshops offer opportunities to explore the digital media and robotics fields. Please call (716) 200-0204 for more details or to sign up.
