Guidance and Counseling
A school counselor is a trained professional educator who helps students realize their fullest potential as unique individuals. At Canisius High School, all counselors have master’s or doctoral degrees and many years of experience. Counselors advocate for students and consult and collaborate regularly with parents, teachers and administrators to ensure that each student receives academic, college, career, personal and social support.
Students are assigned to counselors based on last name. Counselors provide support throughout a student’s four-year high school journey, including college counseling in the junior and senior years.
