Grad at Grad

The Graduate at Graduation (Grad at Grad) program is a uniquely Jesuit experience that is found at no other high school in Western New York.

The Grad at Grad is a list of five characteristics that all Jesuit high schools hope their graduates will embody.  

These are the five characteristics:
    •    Open to Growth
    •    Intellectually Competent
    •    Religious
    •    Loving
    •    Committed to Doing Justice

In the Grad at Grad program each student is asked to take time over the course of his senior year to reflect on his experiences at Canisius. Then, in a presentation to his peers, he will demonstrate how he has embodied the five Grad at Grad characteristics.

Each student is matched with a faculty or staff member who serves as a Grad at Grad mentor to accompany him through the Grad at Grad process. The mentor helps the student to reflect through personal conversations, prayer, and intentional introspective activities. The mentor also supports the student as he plans his presentation and encourages deeper reflection and thought.

Grad at Grad is a capstone experience for Canisius seniors and leaves them with the gift of a greater understanding of their growth over the past four years
