Fr. Betti, S.J. Hope Scholarship
"Go, set the world on fire!"
With these words, St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, sent his early companions on mission. Jesuits are always men on mission.
Fr. Fred Betti, S.J., former director of campus ministry, left Canisius High School in the summer of 2016 after 14 years of outstanding priestly service. He was given a new mission by the Provincial Superior of the Northeast Jesuits to serve the Church as an associate pastor at St. Michael’s in Buffalo.
While we're saddened that Fr. Betti has left CHS, we are thrilled to offer the Fr. Betti Hope Scholarship. This scholarship will be used to continue his mission to help students for whom a Jesuit education would be beyond their financial reach. These are the students Fr. Betti kept an eye on, fed, helped clothe, slid a ticket to the prom, supported quietly and assured that each had what was needed to be successful and feel at home at CHS.
Together we can continue to help these students and honor Fr. Betti's legacy at CHS. Please consider making a gift to the Fr. Betti Hope Scholarship.
