Canisius High School has hired Michael F. Albert as the school's new varsity lacrosse coach. Albert is a US Lacrosse Member Coach, an NSCA Certified Coach and a USA Hockey Member Coach. He most recently served as JV and modified lacrosse coach for Buffalo Public Schools.

"Mike will bring a tremendous passion for the student-athlete's experience, and the sport of lacrosse, to Canisius. He has a good background in the sport as a player in the high school and collegiate ranks," says Jim Mauro, director of athletics at Canisius. "In addition, his knowledge of the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association and the Western New York lacrosse community, is a big plus. We are very excited for him to begin working with our students."

At Canisius College, where he studied marketing and finance, Albert played for the 2012 MAAC champion lacrosse team that also participated in the NCAA tournament. In high school, he played in the Monsignor Martin league with St. Francis High School.
