HAP Camp Awards Ceremony
HAP Camp Awards Ceremony
By Ginger Geoffery

HAP campers and their families gathered in the Canisius High School auditorium on Thursday afternoon, July 27th, to celebrate the conclusion of this year's HAP summer camp. The ceremony included the presentation of awards for academic subjects and athletics.

HAP is short for Higher Achievement Program. It's a five-week program at Canisius High School for boys who have just completed the seventh grade. HAP offers academics, athletics, and other fun each day, and campers get to interact with recent Canisius High School graduates to gain a sense of what it's like to be a Canisius student. HAP campers also get a preview of some of the themes and topics they'll be studying in eighth grade, as well as a look ahead at the types of material that will appear on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam. As an added bonus, HAP campers receive free enrollment in the Entrance Exam Tutorial Course offered at Canisius in the fall.
