Jack Collins '18 and Jacob Ruffolo '18 signed National Letters of Intent on Thursday, November 9, 2017, making commitments to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level.

Jack verbally committed to the Binghamton University baseball team last summer. He's now made official his plans to pitch for Binghamton.

Jake is a four-year varsity swimmer for Canisius, serving as a captain his junior and senior years. He committed St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY.

Jack's baseball career highlights at Canisius include:

Junior Year

  • First Team All Catholic pitcher
  • All WNY honorable mention
  • 5-2 overall record with 1.78 ERA 50:6 K:BB
  • 4-1 record in Monsignor Martin league play with 1.00 ERA and 37:5 K:BB

Sophomore Year

  • Second Team All Catholic pitcher
  • 2-1 record with two saves
  • Pitched two complete game one hitters

Jack also plays first base when he's not pitching.

Jake's swimming career highlights at Canisius include:

Junior Year

  • Helped Crusaders earn a 15th straight Monsignor Martin title
  • Ninth in the state in 100 and 200 freestyle events and sixth in 200 medley relay
  • His 100 time was the second fastest by a junior last year

Sophomore Year

  • 17th in the state in 200 freestyle, 18th in 100 free, 13th in 200 and 400 free relays
  • His times in the 100 and 200 were the fastest by any sophomore in NYS

Freshman Year

  • Fourth in the state in 400 freestyle relay, and ninth in 200 free relay
  • Qualified for NCSA Junior National Championships in Orlando, Florida
  • Four year varsity team member; captain during junior and senior years
