CHS Senior Named Mr. Beautillion

Davon Hardy, Jr. '17 won the title of Mr. Beautillion 2017 at a recent black tie gala hosted by Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. Terrell Brown '17 won the Highest Academic Achievement Award at the gala, along with several other awards. Davon also won the Gold Grandmaster Oratorical Award, the Silver Presidential Award, the Dr. Catherine Collins Essay Award, the Beautillion Extraordinaire Essay Award, and Community Service Award.

The gala is the culmination of the eight-month Beautillion Extraordinaire Leadership Program. Over the last several months Davon, Terrell, and other program participants have written essays, given presentations, attended classes, participated in community service projects, and presented speeches. The Beautillion Extraordinaire Leadership Program is part of the Jack and Jill of America Buffalo Chapter.

Jack and Jill of America was founded in 1938 and now has more than 230 chapters nationwide. The organization works with young people to stimulate their growth and development through service projects.

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown attended the gala, addressed the young men, and posed for pictures.
