Richard Grey ’10 Participates in Roswell Park Summer Research Program
image
Richard Grey '10

This past summer Canisius senior Richard Grey had the honor of doing research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in downtown Buffalo. Richard was one of only about 40 high school students from across the United States selected to participate in this prestigious program. The main goals of this program are to introduce students to scientific research supervised by graduate faculty members, help students develop their own philosophy of science, give students an opportunity to discover and experience graduate student life, and aid in selecting students’ undergraduate college major.

So while most students slept their summers away, Richard spent 9 hours a day for 7 weeks doing genetics cancer research at a graduate student’s level. And like that is not impressive enough, Richard even ended up being one of two students to be given an award for academic excellence at the end of the program.

The Canisius community congratulates Richard on his fantastic achievements and encourages this year’s juniors who are interested in medical research to follow Richard’s lead next summer!
