"Men-for-others: the paramount objective of Jesuit education – basic, advanced, and continuing – must now be to form such men. For if there is any substance in our reflections, then this is the prolongation into the modern world of our humanist tradition as derived from the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius. Only by being a man-for-others does one become fully human, not only in the merely natural sense, but in the sense of being the “spiritual” person of Saint Paul. The person filled with the Spirit; and we know whose Spirit that is: the Spirit of Christ, who gave his life for the salvation of the world;  the God who, by becoming a human person, became, beyond all others, a Man-for-others."

- Rev. Pedro Arrupe, S.J., Valencia, Spain, 1973

The Blues Brothers once said, "We're on a mission from God."

All of us at Canisius High School  are also on a mission. It is a mission that was started over four-hundred and fifty years ago by the first Jesuit, Ignatius Loyola. The mission is a call from Jesus Christ to recognize His incredible love for us, develop a personal relationship with Him in our daily lives and to carry on the work of His kingdom by acting as people of justice and service to those in need. I see this mission unfolding around me everyday in our school, whether it is on a student-led retreat, during our daily prayer, in the classroom, when a sports team takes time to attend Mass, when students and teachers give up their vacation time to serve the poor on an immersion trip or in the unnoticed act of kindness offered by one student to a classmate.

The Campus Ministry Department helps us to focus on the many ways in which we grow as a faith community.  CHS students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni are all a part of this community we serve through our activities.  Get involved and share your talents.  Help us to grow as the CHS faith community. Stop by our Center, call or e-mail me!

Fr. Fred Betti, S.J.
Director of Campus Ministry

DAILY EUCHARIST - Mass is celebrated each weekday at 7:45 AM in the Sacred Heart Chapel.  Students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni are most welcome to join us.  It's a great way to start your day and still allows plenty of time to prepare for class or get to work!   Lectors and servers are welcome to assist us.
SCHOOL WIDE Masses are celebrated on Holy Days and for special events at 10:00 in the Auditorium for the whole school community. Please check the school calendar for details.

PRAYER FOR THE SICK - You are invited to place the names of the sick in our Prayer Book in the Chapel. You may also email us with the names of those you wish to be remembered in our Prayer Bool. They are a part of our daily prayer of the faithful at Mass.

MASS INTENTIONS -may be requested at the switchboard or by contacting Fr. Betti.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION - This sacrament is celebrated for each grade during Advent and Lent.  Individual confession is also available at any time by contacting Fr. Betti or another priest on our staff.

Do you help in your parish as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Server, or Hospitality Minister?  Do you play a musical instrument?  WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR MASSES!!!   Particularly, we are looking for some help with our many weekend and special event masses.  Call Fr.
