Admissions
Welcome and thank you for your interest in Canisius High School.
Canisius is a Catholic, Jesuit, independent college preparatory school, grades 9 through 12, serving young men of diverse backgrounds from all over Western New York. Our mission is to challenge students to strive for excellence as critical thinkers and effective communicators who are open to growth, intellectually competent, religiously oriented, loving, and committed to justice.
For over 130 years, Canisius High School has been producing young men of competence, conscience, compassion and character. Our graduates demonstrate a commitment to service and are ready to take leading roles in their communities once their formal education is complete.
Because you are taking the time to explore our website, it is apparent that you care deeply about your education, or the education of someone close to you. At Canisius, students come first, academic excellence matters, and teachers are dedicated to helping each and every student find success. The distinguished and rigorous academic program, based upon a liberal arts curriculum, is designed to prepare students for college. Additionally, Canisius students have the opportunity to take many honors and advanced placement level courses. The typical Canisius High School student is one who excels in the classroom, on the athletic field or stage, and in his community through service work.
I invite you learn more about becoming part of this truly outstanding school community. The Admissions portion of our website has much information about Canisius and the application process, and answers such questions as:
How do I apply?
What important events are coming up?
What are the important deadlines?
What about scholarships and financial aid?
How can I arrange a visit or a shadow day?
Whom can I contact for more information?
Please go to the Admissions Update section on the left for the answers to these questions and many more.
If you cannot find your answers on the site, please contact the Admissions Office directly at 716-882-0466, x205, or send us an email message. Again, many thanks for your interest in Canisius. I hope to hear from you soon and look forward to helping you explore the possibility of spending the next four years here!
Sincerely,
Tom Weislo
